Sweet Dill Everything Sauce

Easy Staple Sauce — Difficulty: level 1

16 oz mason jar filled with a dill flecked creamy sauce made with vegenaise. served alongside a bowl of carrots for dipping

seriously, you're gonna put this on everything

This Dilly Sauce is honestly so fast to make and quite versatile. You don't need any fancy equipment to make it, which also means no fancy dishes to clean. And obviously, it's pretty dang delicious.

This is the one sauce you'll need to pull together Slaw, Meatless Chicken Salad, Potato Salad, or Chickpea Salad, so a double batch is perfect for feeding a crowd. You could even use this as a dip for fresh Veggies, Bread, Chips, or just douse a big ol Salad and call it good.

If you're making this for the first time: start by adding only 1 tbsp of all the "1-2 tbsp ingredients". Then add more of each, to taste. I prefer 2 tbsp of each, but everyone's everything sauce will be different.

[Makes: ~2 cups sauce]

Ingredients

1 cup Mayo
(I like Vegenaise)

1/2 tsp Salt

1-2 tbsp Dried Dill

1-2 tbsp Sugar*

1-2 tbsp Brown Mustard

1-2 tbsp White Vinegar

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients.

  2. Combine everything in a bowl and stir till well incorporated.

  3. Taste and adjust seasonings to your liking.

  4. And that's it! Now you've got an awesome dressing for Slaws, Salads, or dipping all your fav foods into. Enjoy!

Notes

  • * I use organic Sugar which often means that the lil Sugar crystals are larger than your standard fine Sugar. If using a fine Sugar, start with less than 1 tbsp if you don’t want it to be super sweet.

  • Like I suggested in the intro, experiment with the ingredient ratios! Start with 1 tbsp of all the "1-2 tbsp ingredients" and adjust. Make this Sauce your own. And if you find the measurements you love— write them down so you can recreate it later.

  • I'm serious about using this Sauce for everything. It'll be my go-to recipe when it's finally safe to have a backyard BBQ again. A double batch can take you a long way.

so what ADHD friendly recipes or tips do you want to see here?

This will come as a surprise to literally nobody, but the ADHD Burnout Meals have been a major hit this year. Since every meal on that page can be whipped up in less than 15 minutes with minimal dishes and energy, it's perfect for food in a pinch.

I've been creating full-meal, fast recipes lately because I'm burnt tf out, myself. But I'd like to focus a bit more on ADHD-friendly meal prep and batch cooking during the month of June, since I hate turning on the oven when it's warm out. No AC in the PNW.

So, I ask you dear friends, are there recipes or tips you'd like to see in the next several weeks? Any big-batch meals you've been wanting to make? Any events you'd like to bring an easy, sharable dish to? Or are you just looking for more fast and easy meals?

Lemme know what you'd like to see more of in the comments, so I can work it into the schedule.
